Hargreaves Services PLC10 October 2006 For Immediate Release 10 October 2006 HARGREAVES SERVICES plc ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING STATEMENT At the Annual General Meeting to be held later today of Hargreaves Services plc(AIM:HSP), a leading provider of transport and support services to the energyand waste sectors, Chairman, Timothy Ross, will say: "I am pleased to report that trading for the first quarter of the year has beenin line with budget and market expectations. The integration into the Group ofNorec, whose acquisition was announced on 1st September 2006, is proceedingsmoothly and greatly adds to the Group resource in Industrial Services. Synergygains from the combined customer base are already being realised, and weanticipate further progress in this area. We are also pleased to advise youthat the acquisition of the Gilbraith business and subsequent trading byHargreaves (Bulk Liquid Transport) has gone well, and is producing good results. "The Group order book has continued to grow, with several existing contractsbeing renewed or extended, and a number of additional contracts, particularlyfor mineral supply to the Generators, being awarded. "Overall the consumption of coal, currently the most economic method to produceelectricity, continues at a substantial level and the Group as the major UKindependent coal importer has benefited. "Finally, the joint venture with UK Coal, to supply the light industrial anddomestic market, though Coal4Energy, is trading successfully, with the originalcustomers of each company now being supplied by the joint venture.
