Notice of 2017 Q3 Pre-Earnings Guidance Schedule

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("Samsung") will release its pre-earnings guidance for 2017 Q3 on October 13, 2017.

- Accounting Period: From July 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017

- The figures are estimates of consolidated earnings for the third quarter of 2017 based on K-IFRS,

and subject to change according to the results of external auditor's review.

- After the disclosure of pre-earnings guidance on the scheduled date set forth herein, Samsung will

release its earnings results on the date of the Board of Directors' approval.

- Samsung will provide a separate notice for the earnings release schedule.
