Peter Hambro Mining PLC22 January 2008 22nd January 2008 PETER HAMBRO MINING PLC APPOINTMENT OF NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Peter Hambro Mining plc is pleased to announce that General the Lord Guthrie ofCraigiebank GCB LVO OBE DL, has been appointed to the Board as a Director of the Company with effect from 22nd of January 2008. Lord Guthrie is also a Director of NM Rothschild & Sons Limited, Colt DefenceLLC (USA), Sciens International Fund of Hedge Funds and an independent member ofthe House of Lords. He served in the British Army from 1959 to 2001 including 10 years as ColonelCommandant of the Intelligence Corps, three years as Chief of the General Staffand four years as Chief of Defence Staff. He is currently Colonel of the LifeGuards and Colonel Commandant of the SAS.
