NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT

Cable & Wireless Communications Plc today announces that Mark Hamlin will join the Cable & Wireless Communications Board of Directors as a Non-executive Director from 1 January 2012. He will also become a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees. Mark is the Chairman of the Organisation Resource Group of Companies.
