The ORH consists of four hospitals - theJohn Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals, Headington, the Radcliffe Infirmary,Oxford, and the Horton Hospital in Banbury. Significant changes to the Trust'sformulae for woundcare dressings were introduced under the direction of theChief Nurse working in conjunction with Pharmacy to implement ActivHeal(R). ActivHeal(R) is a value range of advanced woundcare dressings specificallydesigned by AMS for use on routine wounds. Independent technical and clinicalassessment has shown that the ActivHeal(R) products are equivalent to thebranded versions in performance whilst significantly reducing the cost oftreatment. ActivHeal(R) offers real and immediate savings to the NHS of the order of £25mper year across England and Scotland. These savings on the treatment of routinewounds are available to ensure that the new technologies needed for problematiccases are affordable within current budgets. As a UK based R&D andmanufacturing company, AMS is also involved in delivering innovative woundcaretechnologies to the market through its branded marketing and distributionpartners.
