TT electronics PLC11 June 2007 TT electronics plc TT electronics acquires further new technologies TT electronics plc, a world leader in sensor and electronic componenttechnology, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the rights to twoimportant technologies to support future growth and expansion within the globalelectronics market. TT electronics has acquired exclusive ownership of the relevant patents for DAPS(digital angular position sensing) technology, a capacitive encoder technologyfor use in both automotive and non- automotive markets. The patents have beendeveloped by FE Technical Services Inc. ("FETS"), a US based engineering teamfocused on building an intellectual property portfolio. The technology is underdevelopment by TT electronics automotive sensing specialists for an electricalsteering system application in the Far Eastern automotive market. TT electronics has also acquired the exclusive right to develop its Autopad(R)position sensing technology for fuel level sensing applications and, as aresult, now owns the exclusive rights to Autopad(R) for all automotiveapplications worldwide. Autopad(R) provides highly accurate measurement of fuellevel and therefore consumption. Opportunities for this application exist inmany areas of the automotive and heavy goods vehicle markets. The purchase consideration for the combined rights is £0.5m, together with thepayment of future royalties.
