New Secure Digital controller for industrial markets.

CML Microsystems Plc ("the Group"), which designs, manufactures and markets a broad range of semiconductors, primarily for global communication and data storage markets, announces that its wholly owned German subsidiary, Hyperstone GmbH, has launched its new flash memory controller chip at the Flash Memory Summit being held this week in Santa Clara, California, USA.

The new S8 SD/MMC controller offers the highest levels of endurance and data retention management available on the market today for the global industrial storage markets.

Group Managing Director, Chris Gurry, stated "This next generation controller builds upon Hyperstone's enviable reputation for quality and endurance within the Group's target solid state storage application areas. The product offers maximum compatibility with current and next generation flash memory technologies whilst also containing functionality that is expected to widen the Group's addressable market".
