Acta S.p.A.
("Acta" or "the Company")
New Products Launched at Hannover Messe
Acta S.p.A. (AIM: ACTA), the clean energy products company, is pleased to announce that it is launching three new products and two additional modules at the Hannover Messe, which commences today. The products being presented are important new additions to the Company's range of hydrogen generators, and have been developed as a result of market demand from the Company's commercial partners.
The new products and modules being presented are as follows:
·; 1,000 litre / hour modular rack-mounted hydrogen generator
·; 200 litre / hour rack-mounted hydrogen generator
·; 200 litre / hour stand-alone hydrogen generator, directly powered by solar PV panels for off-grid operation
·; Rainwater module for service-free operations in remote or inaccessible locations
·; Gas purification module for high purity hydrogen for laboratory applications
These products and modules have been designed to address the key commercial applications for mid-sized fuel cell systems, as identified by the Company through its commercial partnerships. The new products incorporate the Company's award-winning hydrogen generation technology, which enables a compact, high performance system at a cost far below any comparable product on the market using traditional technologies. The Company has sold its electrolyser systems to some of the leading fuel cell producers and telecom back-up power system integrators in the world and is in negotiations to integrate its products and technology into fuel cell back-up power systems and other commercial applications.
The Company's hydrogen generator will also be available to view at the stand of Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG, Acta's strategic commercial partner at Stand C54, Hall 27. Under the commercial partnership and licensing agreement signed with Heliocentris and announced on 28 February 2012, Heliocentris has committed to purchase Acta's low cost electrolysers in volume for resale in laboratory, educational and training applications (including the gas purification module) and for back-up power and other stationary clean power applications.
At the exhibition Acta will also be presenting the PUREFlame 300, which is a high performance and low cost oxygen-hydrogen generator for flame torch welding, soldering and brazing. PUREFlame 300 and the new hydrogen generator products can be viewed at the Acta Stand, B61 in Hall 27.
Paolo Bert, Acta's CEO, will be giving presentations on the Company's products, technology and related topics at the following public forums:
i) Wednesday 25 April, 12:00 pm
Acta's innovative technology for electrolytic stacks and hydrogen generators
ii) Thursday 26 April, 11:20 am
Hydrogen fueled systems powered by renewable power sources
iii) Friday 27 April, 11:20 am
Hydrogen usage in industrial and domestic fields

About Acta S.p.A.
Acta S.p.A. is a developer and manufacturer of a range of clean energy products. Its product line includes market-leading compact hydrogen generators (electrolysers) which produce pure, dry and compressed hydrogen in a way that is easy-to-use and completely safe, and the Company is committed to integrating its award-winning electrolysers with renewable energy sources.
Acta's cost-competitive electrolysers are based on its proprietary, inexpensive environmental catalyst and hydrogen conversion technologies. These products help overcome the barriers to the adoption of fuel cells, most notably the lack of a local hydrogen infrastructure. They are also applicable in non-fuel cell hydrogen and oxygen applications, including oxy-hydrogen gas welding systems, where the Company is generating significant commercial interest.
Acta's low-cost hydrogen generators represent a unique breakthrough in electrolyser technology. They can operate using mains power or intermittent renewable energy, and produce clean, dry hydrogen already at pressure for use in fuel cell and other applications. This unique combination of features avoids the system complexity and energy cost of further cleaning, drying and compression of the hydrogen, resulting in a simple, compact, low-cost and highly efficient system that is ideally suited for energy conversion and storage applications. In such applications, which include battery replacement and renewable energy storage, low cost and high efficiency are critical to commercial viability, while hydrogen compression is essential for the energy density of the system. No other water electrolyser currently on the market offers this combination of benefits.
Acta is focusing on delivering its products to markets with high volume demand for high-value environmental solutions (transport, back-up power, energy and leisure). It is accelerating the commercialisation of its products via partnerships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, and agents in these sectors, and intends to drive down production costs at high volume via contract manufacturing.
Acta S.p.A. is based near Pisa, Italy, and was admitted to trading on AIM in October 2005.
