Launch of New Product Range and Distribution Agreement

TyraTech, Inc. (AIM: TYR and TYRU), a life sciences technology company focused on nature-derived insect and parasite control products, is pleased to announce that its anticipated new line of non-toxic animal health biocide products will be launched in the first quarter of 2016 under the brand PureScience™. PureScience™ products will provide highly effective and safe insect control in livestock and production animal facilities.

TyraTech also announces that it has entered into a distribution agreement with MWI Animal Health (NASDAQ:ABC) the leading animal health distribution company in the United States, for the distribution of the PureScience™ range in the USA.

The new product line is tailored initially to meet the needs of poultry production in the USA and it is anticipated that the line of products will also be extended to swine, dairy/beef and cow/calf operations over time. MWI provides its customers with a strong technical support and access to its expert team of entomologists in order to implement customized integrated pest management programs, ensuring better efficacy.

The initial focus of the PureScience™ product range includes three formulations to control adult flies, immature flies (eggs, larvae, pupae) and mites in industrial poultry production. A broader pipeline of products is under development to tackle additional issues in the poultry production environment as well as in other species such as swine and cattle. In addition, a research program is being planned to address the market of internal parasites.

The global market for insect control in food production premises is estimated to be worth in excess of $800 million and is rapidly expanding with the intensification of animal protein production.

In the coming year our target will be to build on the success of establishing the Vamousse head lice franchise and also to establish a new and important animal health franchise spearheaded by the PureScience™ range."

Commenting on the new product range Dr Jactel added: "Flies, roaches, mites and other insects spread disease and pose a significant health risk to livestock and farm animals. The PureScience products will address an increased demand from livestock producers for efficacious, safe and more practical solutions to control insects and parasites. They will also respond to customer needs for a more environmental-friendly system of meat production.  

The PureScience™ products are ideally positioned to provide solutions to these critical issues. They differ from traditional synthetic insecticides in that they utilise plant-derived active ingredients that have powerful natural insecticidal properties. They will be launched at a time when existing synthetic-based insecticides are suffering from increasing levels of resistance and regulatory pressure."
