Two New Sustainable Solutions Product Launches: SolidSolver and SandSolver

~ First Sales Already Commenced ~

TyraTech Inc. (AIM: TYR), a leading independent novel clean technology company for human, animal and environmental health, is pleased to announce the launch and first sales of two new products, the SandSolver and SolidSolver. These new equipment systems expand the WasteSolver product line through TyraTech's subsidiary, TyraTech Sustainable Solutions, LLC, the producer of automated manure management systems. Sales of the integrated system, which are generated via TyraTech's own sales and distribution team at the Sustainable Solutions division, have already commenced and the products have been successfully installed at the Genasci Dairy, a large intensive dairy farm in California. This is the first system to be installed in the US.

The technologies for the SolidSolver and the SandSolver units have evolved from Sustainable Solutions' existing WasteSolverTM fully integrated system, which delivers a state of the art pasteurized product for horticulture and animal bedding use. The patent-pending SolidSolver is a cost-effective automated manure management system that efficiently reduces environmental problems and lagoon maintenance by capturing 50% to 70% of manure solids, depending on dairy configuration. The features of the processed solids are suitable for ready-to-use bedding or for other farm uses. The SandSolver removes fine sand from dairy farm waste. In addition to saving a potentially reusable resource, sand removal is known to reduce wear and tear on dairy equipment, such as pumps, augers, and screens. The new component products have been developed to provide dairy farmers with some of the benefits of the WasteSolverTM product at a smaller initial cost coupled with the option to upgrade to a full WasteSolverTM product at a later date. The new products are expected to have a broader appeal to a wider range of dairy farm sizes and geographies.

Due to the ever-tightening environmental regulations, it is increasingly difficult for dairy producers to effectively manage cow manure. The new products help address three key needs inherent to farms of all sizes: 1) removing sand from the waste management process, 2) yielding higher solids output and 3) producing a drier end material. The drier material not only avoids the problems associated with wet manure piles evident at many industry separator sites, but allows dairies to use the material as bedding material immediately after it leaves the SolidSolver, with no requirement for further processing.

Commenting on the integrated system, Edwin Genasci, Managing Partner, Genasci Brothers Dairy said: "The Sustainable Solutions SolidSolver and SandSolver have exceeded my already high expectations for the products. The combined system met our objective of dramatically increasing solids capture, and I believe the SandSolver will also reduce our maintenance costs."

Also commenting on the integrated system, Rick Brenner, President of Sustainable Solutions at TyraTech, said:

"The successful launch and sale of these 2 new products marks an important milestone for Sustainable Solutions, by adding an important market expansion capability for our business. The introduction of the SolidSolver broadens the appeal of our product line and allows us to provide an economic solution to a broader range of farms, including those with under 1000 head of cattle. The SandSolver is an important step forward, providing a value added component that can be incorporated into our WasteSolver and SolidSolver installations, as well as being sold as a stand-alone product for farms needing only improved sand management effectiveness."

NOTES TO EDITORS

About TyraTech

TyraTech was formed in 2004 to develop and commercialise products for the control of invertebrate pests and pathogens using the Company's proprietary technology. TyraTech, which already has a product on the market, is positioned for human health, animal health and pesticide market opportunities which total over $32 billion globally. TyraTech's technology provides the Company with a wide variety of product and business opportunities in many markets and geographic regions. The differentiating feature of these products is the potential to have a combined level of potency and safety that other invertebrate control products are unable to offer. TyraTech's platform brings many of the principles of drug discovery and development to the fields of insecticides and parasiticides. By targeting specific chemoreceptors that are found in invertebrates but not in humans and animals, TyraTech can produce products that use natural plant derived compounds targeting these receptors.

TyraTech's plan for the use of its technology is to develop selected proprietary active ingredients which can then be used across a wide variety of market segments, either by development partners or by TyraTech itself. TyraTech already has products or partnerships in the areas of professional and horticultural insect control, and for an insect/mosquito repellent. TyraTech also has an innovative partnership with Kraft to use its natural oils to develop functional foods for improving the health of the more than 2 billion people worldwide subject to intestinal parasitic infections.

TyraTech also has a separate technology with associated intellectual property that is the basis for the Sustainable Solutions business. This technology has been incorporated into specialised dairy farm equipment for processing cattle manure waste to a usable material for TyraTech to sell as a commercial plant growing medium. About the Sustainable Solutions WasteSolver

Introduced to California dairy producers at the 2008 World Agricultural Expo, the WasteSolver™ automated manure management system generated considerable interest during the show due to its key benefits.

The system is designed to help large dairy farms produce more milk and to profit in four key areas:

Increasing cow comfort and milk production through the use of the resulting soft, clean bedding material that has proven to be equal or superior to sand;

Achieving an average of 9% phosphorus reduction, and equal or greater reductions in nitrogen and potassium for the Manure Management Plan, that could lead to a corresponding increase in herd size;

Significantly reducing annual bedding costs compared to sand or dry manure/cellulose;

Reducing labor costs due to the system's highly automated nature.

The WasteSolver™ automated manure management system functions via a highly automated two-step process:

Step One uses proprietary hydro-cyclone separation technology to automatically separate liquids and salts from solids. Nutrient-rich liquids are returned to the lagoon, while solids are further processed.

Step Two uses in-vessel processing technology to create a clean, cow-comfortable bedding that is dry to the touch and odor-free. A reduction of pathogens, weed seeds and insects are an added benefit.

Other benefits for the producer include:

Continuous availability of clean bedding to help reduce somatic cell counts;

Added income from the sale of excess bedding material;

Overall reduction in odor and pollution concerns;

A community relations advantage gained through less odor and better management of manure.

The WasteSolverTM system has been operating successfully in Indiana and Ohio since 2006.
