Board Appointment

Appointment of non-executive director

Smiths News, the UK's leading wholesaler of newspapers and magazines, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Brent as a non-executive director from

1 September 2008.

Andrew has held senior marketing positions in a number of leading companies including Alliance Boots Plc, Burger King Inc, Iceland Frozen Foods Plc and Procter and Gamble Inc. Andrew also spent six years in Hong Kong as Marketing Director of AS Watson developing their new generation of superstores.
