Amlin PLC15 December 2005 AMLIN PLC ("Amlin") PRESS RELEASEFor immediate release15 December 2005 FORMER CITY BANKER JOINS AMLIN BOARD The Board of Amlin is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Davey asan independent non-executive Director of Amlin, with immediate effect. Mr Daveyhas also joined Amlin's Audit Committee. Mr Davey, who is aged 57, is a non-executive director of the Yorkshire BuildingSociety and a former non-executive director of Freeserve plc (until 2001) and ofScottish Widows Life Assurance Society (until its sale to Lloyds TSB in 2000).The majority of his executive career was spent in investment banking at N MRothschild & Sons Limited, where he served in various roles, including Head ofInvestment Banking and Chairman of its Executive Committee, until his retirementin 1999. A financial services sector specialist, he advised Lloyd's of London,and then Equitas, on the Reconstruction and Renewal proposals of the early1990s. Roger Taylor, Chairman of Amlin, said, "Richard Davey has gained wide experiencein a distinguished City career. We look forward to his contribution to ourBoard."
