Gas Turbine Efficiency PLC19 July 2006 19 July 2006 Gas Turbine Efficiency plc Pratt & Whitney to launch EcoPower service at Schiphol with Martinair FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW, UK: Gas Turbine Efficiency plc ("GTE" or "the Company"), aleading supplier of advanced high pressure gas turbine cleaning systems, announces that Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners ("Pratt & Whitney") is tooffer its innovative EcoPower aircraft engine wash services at Amsterdam'sSchiphol Airport with Martinair as its European launch customer. Pratt & Whitney is GTE's global partner in the aviation sector and has exclusiveuse of the Company's cleaning systems for aero-engine wash services under a longterm royalty sharing agreement. EcoPower's launch at Schiphol follows the successful completion of a pilotprogram with Martinair involving the Amsterdam-based airline's fleet of PW4000engines. As a result, Pratt & Whitney now expects to provide EcoPower enginewashes to Martinair's entire fleet as well as to other airlines that fly intoSchiphol. Paul Horstink, vice president Maintenance & Engineering at Martinair said: "TheEcoPower pilot program met all of our desired results, and we are very happywith how well it cleans our engines. We now plan to clean all of our enginesregularly with this new method, being the first airline in the Netherlands totake this environmentally friendly approach." The engine washing process is a closed-loop, environmentally friendly systemthat uses atomized water to wash aircraft engines. Not only does the systemavoid potentially harmful run-off from the washing process, but it also is moreeffective and much faster than traditional engine washing processes. EcoPowerimproves engine performance and extends time on wing for operators of Pratt &Whitney, GE, IAE, CFMI and Rolls Royce engines. EcoPower wash can reduce fuelburn by as much as 1 percent and increase engine EGT (exhaust gas temperature)margin by as much as 15 degrees C. Steven Zwolinski, chief executive of GTE, commented, "We are delighted thatEcoPower will soon launch its services at Schiphol with Martinair as the launchcustomer. This is a further validation of our strong partnership with Pratt &Whiney and the benefits of our advanced technology to airlines worldwide."
