New Contract Wins worth c.£5m

Hydro International (AIM:HYD), a leading provider of innovative products for the control and treatment of water, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded two major contracts; one in the UK with Tamesis and one in the US with Peyronnin Construction Company. 

Hydro's UK Wastewater division has been awarded a £3.5 million contract for its innovative Zickert Sludge Scraper technology with Tamesis, a joint venture between Laing O'Rourke and Imtech Process Ltd. The Zickert Sludge Scraper reduces operating and infrastructure capital costs when compared to conventional sludge scraper systems. The scraper system will be installed into large primary settlement tanks at Crossness Wastewater Treatment Works in London, one of Europe's largest treatment plants that services two million people. The installation is scheduled for completion in 2012.

Hydro's US Wastewater division has been awarded a $2.7 million contract for two 44 ft. Storm King® systems for the City of Boonville, Indiana. The Storm King® removes pollutants and disinfects overflows from combined sewers carrying both stormwater and wastewater, and can deliver up to a 50% reduction in overall project costs when compared to conventional solutions. It uses a hydrodynamic vortex separator, which has no moving parts and requires no power. Construction of the two facilities for the City of Boonville is scheduled for completion by the end of 2011.
