Meriden Group PLC15 April 2005 Meriden Group Plc Home Computer Initiative Agreement ("HCI") with Centrica PLC ("CP") Following the announcement that was made on 23 March 2005 regarding the HCIagreement that had been agreed with Specialist Computer Centres Plc ("SCC"), thedirectors are pleased to announce that Meriden Holdings Limited ("MHL") thewholly owned subsidiary of Meriden Group Plc has been chosen to undertake an HCIscheme for Centrica Plc, a client of SCC. The HCI division of MHL delivers a consultancy lead service to largecorporations aimed at setting up a tax efficient payroll based deferred computerpurchase agreement under the Government's Home Computer Initiative, and thendealing with the implementation and supply. As we previously announced SCC is a large blue chip corporation and in its lastaudited accounts its turnover was £521m with profits before taxation of £20m.The announcement made regarding the agreement marked a major contract win forthe HCI division to act as the lead HCI consultant for SCC, and as its preferredsupplier for the provision of certain IT products and services to its clients aspart of the scheme. SCC as part of this strategic partnership with MHL, has subsequently providedaccess to one of its major clients, being that of CP. CP is also a large blue chip corporation and in its last audited accounts had agroup turnover from continuing operations of £18.3bn with profits beforetaxation of £1,708m. CP has approximately 30,000 employees and the scheme islikely to be run in quarter four of 2005, if successful, it is anticipated to berun again in subsequent years, under the terms of the agreement.
