New Commissions
Independent TV producer and distributor DCD Media is delighted to announce that its production subsidiary, September Films, has won a major commission from the US Network The CW for a new US series of 13 one hour episodes of the magic competition show Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
After co-producing with 117 PRODUCTIONS and distributing the original UK series which aired on ITV primetime and was presented by Jonathan Ross, DCD Rights, DCD Media and 117 PRODUCTIONS have reached an agreement with The CW to produce a series of new episodes of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, which moves into production next year. The new series will be co-created and co-produced by 117 PRODUCTIONS and September Films. DCD Rights will distribute the show in all territories outside the USA.
Penn & Teller: Fool Us is a one-hour competition series celebrating magic and featuring the legendary duo Penn & Teller. In each episode, aspiring magicians are invited to perform their best trick to try and fool the world-famous team of Penn & Teller. Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn & Teller in their celebrated show in Las Vegas.
DCD Rights CEO Nicky Davies Williams commented today: 'We are delighted we have been able to captialise on the superb work The CW has undertaken in the US to showcase the Penn & Teller: Fool Us format.

Elsewhere in the Group's production division, Rize USA has won an exciting new commission for a one-hour special Love at First Swipe (working title) for Channel 4 as part of their Cutting Edge strand. Produced and directed by Becky Lomax, and executive produced by Nick Shearman, this new observational documentary takes a look at the phenomenon of online dating apps.
