Christopher Evans, non-executive director at Daily Internet, on Monday purchased 1.34m shares at the company after announcing he will be the new chief executive.Evans, who joined the web hosting group in the beginning of the year, spent a total of £2.29m after buying 1m shares for 1.7p and the remaining 0.34m for 1.61p. He holds now 19.26m shares in the company. Last week, Daily Internet said at its half-year report that management team issues "adversely" affected its trading performance, which meant the full year results will be behind the group's expectations. Chairman Michael Edelson said at the time the management issues have been resolved by replacing the board with "a stronger team". The company said on Monday Evans would replace Abby Hardoon as chief executive, in the same day that it announced the acquisition of the Liverpool-based software provider Q4Ex, where Evans has been the technical director since May.
