NEW BOARD APPOINTMENT AT UNITED DRUG PLC
The Board of United Drug plc is today (Wednesday, 29 April 2009) pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hugh Friel as a non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect.
Mr. Friel is Chairman of Tourism Ireland and former Chief Executive of Kerry Group plc. He joined Kerry Group plc as Financial Controller in 1972 and was appointed Deputy Chief Executive on the company's flotation in 1986. He was Chief Executive from 1 January 2002 until his retirement from the company on 31 December 2007.
Mr. Friel is a graduate of University College Galway and has also worked with Aer Lingus, New York; Mobil Oil Corp., London; and Erin Foods, Ireland.
