New appointments at Highland Gold Mining
31 March 2009 - Highland Gold Mining Limited ("Highland Gold", or the "Company") announces the appointment of Vyacheslav Kozyrev as managing director of the Mnogovershinnoye mine. He succeeds Sergey Lysakov, who was elected in early March as head of the local administration of the Nikolaevsk district, where the mine is located.
Vyacheslav Kozyrev is a graduate of the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mining engineering. He has held top management positions in several mining companies both in Kazakhstan and Russia. Before joining Highland Gold, he worked as chief engineer at Magadan Silver.
Highland Gold has also appointed Yury Ryabov as the company's new technical director and deputy COO. Mr Ryabov studied mining engineering at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute and qualified as a specialist in metallurgical equipment at the Leninogorsk Technical School. Prior to joining the company, he was chief of the raw iron ore department at Severstal.
