Gem Diamonds Limited13 February 2008 News Release 13 February 2008 GEM DIAMONDS LIMITED ("Gem Diamonds" or the "Company") APPOINTMENT OF MANAGING DIRECTOR, KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY Gem Diamonds is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alistair Croll asManaging Director of Kimberley Diamond Company NL, which was acquired by GemDiamonds Limited in November 2007. Mr. Croll has extensive experience in the resources industry, both in Australiaand internationally. After graduating from the University of Witwatersrand with a degree in miningengineering, Mr Croll commenced a 17 year career with De Beers. During this timehe worked at a number of De Beers alluvial, open-cut and underground operationsin a variety of roles including operational, project, technical and seniormanagement. Most recently Mr. Croll was the Chief Operating Officer for ConsolidatedMinerals Limited in Australia where he was responsible for overseeing thecompany's manganese, chromite and nickel operations. Mr. Croll will be based in Kimberley Diamond Company's Perth office, where hewill play a critical role in developing the Ellendale Mine to its fullpotential. The appointment takes effect on the 25th February, 2008.
