Sound Oil PLC02 October 2006 Sound Oil plc ("Sound Oil" or "the Company") Appointment of Head of Exploration Sound Oil plc announces that it has appointed Dr. Michael Cope as Head ofExploration based at their new office in Fetcham, Surrey. Dr. Cope hasbeen a petroleum geologist for more than twenty-five years and brings a wealthof operational experience to the Company. His most recent position was asPrincipal Geologist with Schlumberger's WesternGeco seismic division where hismain focus was new ventures prospectivity assessment. Previously he held avariety of senior exploration positions with the Petrofina Group and with Texacoworking on projects in Africa, Central Asia, the Far East and the NorthwestEuropean Shelf. He holds BSc and PhD degrees in geology from the University ofLondon.
