NCSP Operating Results for January-November 2009

Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (LSE: NCSP, RTS and MICEX: NMTP) is hereby reporting its consolidated operating results for January - November 2009.
In the reporting period cargo turnover of NCSP Group amounted to 78,803 thousand tonnes, which exceeds the volume for the same period of 2008 by 6.0%, or 4,470 thousand tonnes.
The volumes of Bulk Cargoes in January-November this year increased by 4,168.4 thousand tonnes or by 45.1% versus the same period in 2008.
The segment of Liquid Cargoes showed an aggregate growth of 3,255.4 thousand tons, or 6.5% during the eleven months of 2009 versus the same period last year.
In the reporting period the volumes of General Cargoes amounted to 10,051.2 thousand tonnes, which is only by 0.4%, or 43 thousand tonnes less than the volumes in the same period last year.
During the eleven months of 2009 Container Traffic amounted to 210.7 thousand TEU, shrinking by 40% as compared to the relevant period last year.
Commenting on the operating results for January-November 2009 Igor Vilinov CEO of NCSP said: «In the reporting period we managed to sustain cargo traffic growth rate at 6.0%, which allows us to expect positive growth rates for the whole 2009. Last month did not reveal any new trends; we maintain the breakthroughs we achieved in iron ore and ore concentrate, grain, diesel fuel, and some other cargoes. Meanwhile we should note improving situation with ferrous and non ferrous metals, which exceeded the volumes for the eleven months of 2008 by 1.1% and 1.6% respectively, and dry mineral fertilizer volumes growing by 24%».

1 Due to decrease of average container weight and substantial difference of this indicator between Group's three terminals, starting from January 2009 container traffic in tonnes is reported according to bills of lading data, and not by indicative tonnes/TEU ratio applied previously on the basis of average container weight at PJSC NCSP terminal.
