Major Agreement for Mobile Division

 

Nationwide, the largest provider of dedicated accident repair services in the UK, is pleased to announce notable progress with its strategy to substantially expand its mobile repair services, with the signing of a major agreement for its glass repair service, Motorglass, and a pilot for its mobile repair offering, Mobile Repair. These developments follow the formal launch of Nationwide's new expanded mobile services in the late summer.

 

Nationwide's Motorglass subsidiary has entered into a new one-year agreement with Hastings Insurance Services, an existing customer of Nationwide, expected to be worth approximately £1 million per annum. Under the terms of the agreement, Motorglass will provide its mobile glass repair offering across the UK from 1 February 2011, offering customers of Hastings Insurance Services glass repairs at a location and time convenient to them. The Group will be one of only two providers of this service.

 

In addition, Nationwide's Mobile Repair business has secured a pilot scheme with another major existing insurance customer to provide its mobile repair offering as part of an integrated repair service. The pilot is trialling the repair of lightly damaged vehicles 'off-site' using Nationwide's fleet of specialist vans. Any larger repairs will be directed to the Group's extensive bodyshop network. This integrated offering will ensure that each job isrepaired in the most appropriate, efficient and cost effective way.

Our mobile fleet not only extends the scope of services offered to customers, it also forms a key element of our strategy to significantly increase our penetration of the fleet market. We have a stated aim to expand our mobile repair capability substantially over the next three years and the agreement and pilot announced today represent significant progress on this strategy."
