Energetix Group plc
("Energetix" or "the Group")
Ministerial tour and television broadcast
Energetix Group plc (AIM: EGX), a leading developer of new and sustainable alternative energy products, is pleased to announce that it has demonstrated its technologies to the UK Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks during his tour on 24 June of the Group's facilities in Capenhurst. The ministerial visit was subsequently featured on North West Tonight, BBC TV's evening roundup programme for the region.
During the broadcast Energetix CEO Adrian Hutchings displayed and demonstrated products from the Group's current portfolio of three alternative energy subsidiary companies. Hutchings demonstrated an "air-powered television" running on electricity produced by the Group's Pnu Power technology; an alternative to batteries or fuel cells, based on compressed-air for uninterruptible power. Operating in the kitchen of the Energetix test house the Minister also saw Genlec, the Group's wall-mounted micro-CHP boiler. Genlec can save £150-200 per year on energy bills for the average UK home (or up to 27% for the family cited by the BBC) and reduce CO2 emissions by 1 to 1.5 tonnes per year. Also on view was VPhase, a low cost voltage control device which can reduce electricity bills, with tests showing savings in excess of 10%, or the equivalent of £40 per year for an average home.
Hutchings explained to the Minister that these products are all very close to market. Pnu Power has completed its first commercial sale, and both Genlec and VPhase are preparing for commercial launch before the end of this year.
In addition to Energetix, Malcolm Wicks also officially opened the new neighbouring Energy Innovation Centre, hosted by EA Technology Group, to help start-up companies develop innovative 'green' technologies.
Adrian Hutchings, CEO of Energetix Group, commented: "The UK's North West is one of the leading hubs for energy innovation in the country and we are proud to be taking part in the region's success.
"We were delighted with the wonderful opportunity to showcase our sustainable technologies to the UK's Energy Minister. His positive comments on our products were especially encouraging and I believe he was pleased to hear about not only the energy savings and environmental benefits of our products, but also that they are being made ready for the market in the very near term."

About Energetix Group plc
Energetix Group plc is a leading developer of new and sustainable alternative energy products. The Group operates by identifying key market demands for efficient, reliable and cost-effective energy provision and by developing a range of core technologies that address these market needs.
Energetix was established by Adrian Hutchings in 1997, having spent the previous four years at British Nuclear Fuels plc ("BNFL") developing alternative energy products and identifying new business ventures for energy systems.
Adrian and his highly experienced team floated the Group on AIM in August 2006 and are currently focusing on the following core technologies: Genlec, a micro combined heat and power (CHP) product for the domestic boiler market; and Pnu Power, an electro-mechanical energy store for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for commercial applications. These global markets are currently valued at £8bn per annum and in excess of £1.2bn per annum respectively.
Energetix focuses on solutions that are easy and cost-effective to manufacture, and which can realise payback for the end-user quickly. It targets innovations that can readily replace conventional, inefficient devices and which require minimal shifts in consumer behaviour to adopt.
In September 2007, the Group listed a third business, Energetix Voltage Control Limited, on AIM, under the name of VPhase plc. Energetix retains a 49.4% shareholding in VPhase, which is developing a range of technologies designed to reduce energy consumption whilst at the same time seeking to make use of existing proven components. Its first such product is a device that controls the incoming voltage to a property, saving energy and increasing appliance life.
Energetix Group and its subsidiaries are all based near Chester, NW England.
