Berkeley Resources Limited01 May 2007 1 May 2007 Positive Results from Initial Metallurgical Testwork The Directors of Berkeley Resources Limited (AIM: BKY.L) are pleased to announcevery encouraging results from initial metallurgical testwork on tworepresentative samples from the Retortillo uranium deposit. Two twenty kilogram samples of mineralised shales from drill core, representingthe strongly and weakly oxidised sections of the deposit, have been subject tocomprehensive metallurgical testing at the SGS Lakefield Oretest Laboratories inPerth, Western Australia. This work was conducted under the guidance of theCompany's Senior Metallurgical Consultant, Mr Chris Johnson, a former ChiefMetallurgist at the Rossing Uranium Mine, in Namibia. Recoveries of U308 from the sample of strongly oxidised mineralisation exceeded90% after eight hours of leaching over the entire range of size distribution, upto and including 80% passing 850 microns. For the sample of weakly oxidisedmineralization, recoveries exceeded 90% after two hours for the entire sizerange - these recoveries increased to 93% - 94% after eight hours of leaching. Further testwork on the samples is underway and will be reported in due course. These encouraging results, combined with the recent announcement of the JORCcompliant resources of 11.9M lbs of U308 for the Retortillo and the nearby Zona7 deposit, enable scoping studies to commence. As set out in the March QuarterlyReport, a reverse circulation drilling program is also scheduled to start laterthis week, aimed at testing for strike extensions to the Retortillo deposit tothe southeast and northwest.
