Office of Fair Trading26 May 2006 Merger Update UNDERTAKINGS GIVEN BY BRITISH AEROSPACE PLC (subsequently re-named BAE SYSTEMSplc) TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR TRADE & INDUSTRY ON 28 MARCH 2000 In accordance with the provisions of Undertaking 1.11 (as varied) andUndertaking 1.8 (as varied), the OFT has given its consent to BAE Systemsextending the term of the current Compliance Officer (CO), which previouslyexpired on 31 May 2006, to 31 December 2006. The CO's role is to facilitate andoversee compliance with the Undertakings and report to the Ministry of Defenceand OFT on compliance. Extending the term will allow the current CO to remainin place while the OFT's ongoing review of the BAE Systems undertakingscontinues (see http://www.oft.gov.uk/News/Press+releases/2006/25-06.htm forfurther details of the review).
