Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation11 June 2007 Passage of Merger Bill Welcomed (8 June 2007, Hong Kong) In response to media enquiries, the Chief ExecutiveOfficer of KCRC, Mr. James Blake said, "KCRC welcomes the decision by Legcotoday as an important step towards the merger of the KCR and MTR rail systems.The Corporation is working towards the earliest possible completion of corporateactivities on its part, necessary to enable the Government's formalannouncement of the date on which a merger would take place. "With the clearer way forward, KCRC staff will be better placed to address thefuture in a positive manner.
