De La Rue plc notes the media speculation regarding the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and confirms that it is in advance discussions with Mr Tim Cobbold, its preferred candidate. De La Rue has been very pleased with the large number of extremely high calibre candidates the role has attracted. The discussions have not yet been concluded and a further announcement will be made in due course.
