St. Modwen Properties PLC01 June 2005 St. Modwen Properties PLC Mary Francis joins the Board St. Modwen Properties PLC, the regeneration specialist, is pleased to announcethe appointment of Mary Francis, until recently Director General of theAssociation of British Insurers (ABI), as a non-executive Director, with effectfrom 1 June 2005. Mrs. Francis (56) has had a long and distinguished career in both the public andprivate sectors, having worked in a wide variety of roles, including thecorporate finance department of Hill Samuel & Co., for HM Treasury onprivatisation and European Union policy, in 10 Downing Street, and as DeputyPrivate Secretary to the Queen. She was Director General of the ABI from 1999 until she stepped down earlierthis year. She is a non-executive director of the Bank of England and ofCentrica plc and, in addition, she joins the Board of Aviva plc as anon-executive Director in October. Commenting on the appointment of Mary Francis, Anthony Glossop, Chairman of St.Modwen Properties PLC, states: "Mary brings extensive experience to St. Modwen, gained through the wide varietyof important public and private sector roles she has fulfilled.
