Manufacturing Plant
Superglass, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of glass mineral fibre insulation products announces that late on Saturday 26th June Superglass experienced a failure of one of the furnaces at its Stirling plant.
Initial estimates indicate that full furnace capacity will not be resumed for 8 to 12 weeks. The resulting production shortfall will be substantially mitigated by 24 hour working of the second furnace and insurers have also been notified. Despite these steps the Board considers it likely that there will be some consequential reduction in profitability for the year ended 31st August.
A further announcement will be made in due course.
