Avon Rubber PLC01 June 2005 1 June 2005 Avon Rubber p.l.c. MANAGEMENT SUCCESSION Avon is pleased to announce its plans for management succession within theGroup. In light of Steve Willcox's decision to retire from the Group, the Boardhas decided to appoint Terry Stead as Chief Executive and Peter Slabbert asFinance Director. Steve will retire from the Company on 30 September 2005. Terry has been Finance Director since 1998 and has been closely involved in thedevelopment of the Group and its strategic direction since that time. WhilstSteve will work with Terry in the period to 30 September 2005 and will remain onthe Board during that time, Terry will become Chief Executive with effect from 1July 2005. Peter Slabbert is both a Chartered Accountant and an A.C.M.A. and has beenFinancial Controller of the Group since May 2000. Peter is appointed FinanceDirector with effect from 1 July 2005. Trevor Bonner, Chairman of the Board of Avon Rubber p.l.c. said, "Steve Willcoxhad indicated some time ago his wish to retire once an appropriate successor wasappointed. Having considered external and internal candidates, the Board isdelighted that Terry has accepted our proposal that he become Chief Executive.We are sure that he will carry the Group forward with great success.
