Tullow Oil PLC16 February 2006 News release Tullow Oil plc - Senior Management Changes 16 February 2006 - Tullow Oil plc (Tullow) announces the following forthcomingsenior management changes. RETIREMENT OF ADRIAN NEL (63), EXPLORATION DIRECTOR Adrian Nel will retire as Exploration Director, and from the Board of Tullow,with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 31 May 2006. Adrian was appointed as Exploration Director and to the Board in September 2004following the acquisition of Energy Africa. During his career, spanning over 30years in the E&P business, Adrian has held a number of senior managementpositions including General Manager of Gencor's Oil and Gas Division, GeneralManager of Engen's Exploration Division and, from 1996 to 2004, TechnicalDirector of Energy Africa. While with Energy Africa, Adrian built a very strong technical team anddeveloped an extensive portfolio of exploration and development assets. Theseincluded some of the most prominent exploration discoveries and developmentprojects in Africa, most notably the Ceiba field in Equatorial Guinea and theM'Boundi field in Congo (Brazzaville); today these fields represent 19% ofTullow's worldwide reserves. Since joining Tullow, Adrian has been instrumental in integrating and expandingthe Group's exploration portfolio across all three core areas and has overseen asuccessful exploration programme, both in established hydrocarbon basins and inhigh impact frontier areas. APPOINTMENT OF ANGUS McCOSS (44), GENERAL MANAGER EXPLORATION Angus McCoss has been appointed to the new role of General Manager Explorationand will join the Group at the end of April. In this role, Angus will beresponsible for the implementation of Tullow's exploration programmes, thecontinued growth and renewal of the Group's acreage portfolio and the ongoingdevelopment of Tullow's worldwide technical team. Angus has 19 years of wide-ranging exploration experience, working with Shell inAfrica, Europe, South America and the Middle East. Angus has held a number ofsenior positions within Shell, most recently as the General Manager ofExploration in Nigeria, where he has been responsible for Shell's onshore, shelfand deep-water exploration throughout the country. Angus has a First Class Honours degree in Geology from the University of Dundeeand a BP sponsored PhD in Structural Geology from the University of Belfast.
