Afren PLC03 January 2008 Afren plc Management Appointments London, 3 January 2007 - Afren plc ("Afren" or "the Company") announces theappointment of Constantine Ogunbiyi to the Board as an executive Director andDoug Barrie as the Company's General Counsel. Constantine Ogunbiyi, who assisted in establishing Afren, has been an AssociateDirector of the Company, Special Assistant to the Chairman, General Counsel forthe group and a Director of Afren's Nigerian wholly owned subsidiary. SinceMarch 2005, Mr Ogunbiyi has contributed to Afren's growth and development, inparticular the negotiation of the Nigerian portfolio and financing facilities.Mr Ogunbiyi will continue to play an active role to grow the overall asset baseand increase the African participation in Afren's capital structure. Doug Barrie recently joined Afren as Senior Counsel after a career of more than20 years with a variety of international oil companies including OccidentalPetroleum, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Total and Enterprise Oil. Mostrecently he was the senior oil and gas specialist at Cameron McKenna LLP, a lawfirm with expertise in the upstream and oil field services industries. As well as acting as general counsel for transactions in WestAfrica, Asia, the Gulf of Mexico and Europe, Mr Barrie has advised onprocurement for field development projects, including managing the procurementfor a major field development in the Middle East.
