Loretta M. Ucelli to Join Pfizer as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications NEW YORK, Aug. 2 - Pfizer Inc today announced that Loretta M. Ucelli, executive vice president for communications and external affairs at Columbia University, and former White House communications director, has been named senior vice president, corporate communications, effective August 29. Over the past 25 years, Ms. Ucelli has held a wide range of senior communications and strategic counsel positions in both the public and private sectors. Most recently at Columbia, she managed all internal and external communications and was responsible for all university outreach activities. Ms. Ucelli previously served the Clinton Administration as assistant to the President and director of communications for two years beginning in 1999. She advised the President on communications strategy as well as directed all communications activities for the President. She worked closely with the Chief of Staff, the Press Secretary and economic, domestic and foreign policy advisors on a broad range of issues. Previously Ms. Ucelli was an associate administrator for communications, education and public affairs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. A graduate of West Virginia University, Ms. Ucelli began her career as a radio reporter and news director in Morgantown, West Virginia. At Pfizer, she will report to Jeffrey B. Kindler, vice chairman and general counsel, and be responsible for the company's strategic and broad-based communications platform.
