AMS is a leading provider of advanced woundcare products to the global market.New technologies are taken to market via major branded partners who have theability to provide the necessary marketing and promotional support tocommercialise these products worldwide. AMS is also well placed to address thegrowing trend towards private label products in advanced woundcare throughprovision of own-label ranges to distribution partners. The Company sells direct into the NHS and seeks to deliver innovation throughits branded partners and cost saving initiatives through its ActivHeal(R) valuerange. The ActivHeal(R) range offers equivalent performance to branded versionsbut at a significantly reduced cost, thus delivering real and immediate savingsto the NHS estimated at £25 million per year. The hydrocolloid product is a key part of the ActivHeal(R) range and the newmanufacturing line has been introduced to offer increased capacity to the NHSfor this particular product. AMS has made a £100,000 investment in upgradingmanufacturing equipment and clean room facilities to support future growth. Lord Sainsbury's visit was hosted by Dr. Don Evans, CEO, who introduced him tomanagement and staff whilst undertaking a tour of the Company's premises andofficially opening the new manufacturing line.
