Learning Services Division Wins Pilot Project
CareTech Holdings PLC (AIM: CTH), a leading UK provider of specialist social care services, announces that its learning services division, which was formed following last year's acquisition of the training provider EQL Solutions, has won the competitive tender for a Department for Work and Pensions pilot project, Head for Success. The 18-month project, which will take place in Hampshire and Dorset, seeks to help those recovering from mental health conditions to return to work.
CareTech's learning and mental health divisions worked together to win the tender, in which they proposed tailored training packages to prepare recovering patients for roles in a wide range of industries to help them achieve a healthy balance in life and work.
The project, which has an approximate value of £350,000, is expected to begin next month. If successful, it is anticipated that similar training packages will be rolled out in other areas of the UK.
Farouq Sheikh, CareTech's Executive Chairman, said: "We are delighted to have won this pilot project from the Department for Work and Pensions through the combination of our learning services division and our existing mental health division. This combination has enabled us to offer an informed and innovative approach to rehabilitation, which we sincerely hope will achieve the Government's aims of supporting patients into employment and reducing hospital re-admissions."
