Universe launches the latest addition to its growing Automatic Number Plate Recognition System product range.
HTEC Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Universe, today announces the launch of Barrier Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), the latest in its suite of security-focused systems. Barrier ANPR intelligently monitors approaching vehicles, or oncoming traffic, logging and identifying vehicle number plates in its database.
When used on the entry and exit barriers of a car park it gives access to a number of options for successful vehicle movement management. The system is almost impossible to cheat as the vehicle make, colour and year are recorded alongside the number plate key, and is able, amongst other features, to:-
Allow only authorised vehicles to enter
Keep track of the number of spaces available
Permanently deny access to all unrecognized/unwelcome vehicles
Record time spent in car park and alert overstays
Currently, the system is being successfully being used internally by HTEC and will be offered to a new client base as well as its existing client base of major UK supermarkets. Barrier ANPR offers huge improvements to site safety and security for both car park and vehicle owners and more importantly, it can be easily programmed to provide total operational flexibility on a day-by-day basis.
Barrier ANPR will be available in 5 modules:
Barrier Lite
Barrier Lite plus
Barrier Visitor
Barrier Visitor ID
Barrier Corporate
Commenting on the launch, Paul Cooper, CEO of Universe, said: "We are proud to launch another product from our development team that we can offer alongside our existing managed services. As well as targeting our traditional customer base such as major inner-city UK supermarkets, this product will also target a new client base in the security, building services and carpark management sectors."
