The speech mentioned the possibility of increasing capacity at the Nkana smelterand the future development of Konkola underground mine. Vedanta sees considerable potential to improve the existing operations atKonkola and develop these assets. Plans are underway to expand the smeltingcapacity at Nkana and engineering studies are taking place at Konkolaunderground mine.
