KIER ACHIEVES FINANCIAL CLOSE ON CAMBRIDGESHIRE BSF PROJECT
Kier, bidding as part of the Equitix consortium, has achieved financial close in wave four of the Fenland Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme for Cambridgeshire County Council.
This comprises the construction of two new schools in Wisbech with a combined value of £44.4m: The Thomas Clarkson Community College, valued at £33.4m and the Meadowgate School, valued at £11m.
Kier Group chief executive Paul Sheffield commented: "We are delighted that Kier has been chosen to bring these exciting projects to fruition under the BSF programme and look forward to working closely with all parties involved in their delivery. We are committed to delivering exemplary places of learning in Wisbech to benefit pupils, staff and the local community."
Work is due to start in July 2010.
