KABWE UPDATE

Further to comments made in a recent press interview, Berkeley Mineral Resources Plc, the AIM-listed mining and processing company, confirms that it is in advanced negotiations with interested parties which may lead to an off-take agreement being entered into.

The interested parties would be expected to make a major contribution to the development of appropriate mineralogical and metallurgical technology to exploit the zinc and lead resources at Kabwe.

Whilst discussions are well advanced, there is no certainty that an agreement will be concluded.

The Company will make further announcements as appropriate.
