KABWE PROCESSING UPDATE

Berkeley Mineral Resources Plc, primarily engaged in processing mining tailings in Zambia, is pleased to provide a further update on progress towards the start-up of processing operations in Kabwe, central Zambia. BMR's operations in Zambia are conducted by its 100% owned Zambian subsidiary Enviro Processing Ltd ("EPL").

Following the Company's announcement on 30 May 2014, EPL has received a letter from the Zambian Environmental Management Agency ("ZEMA") confirming the salient points of EPL's Environmental Impact Statement ("EIS"). ZEMA's letter states that it has now reviewed the EIS submitted, information provided by EPL, and the written and verbal comments from interested and affected parties and its own site verification findings.

ZEMA has decided to defer the project pending further consultation with certain key industry advisers. BMR does not expect this to cause significant delay in the final approval process.

Masoud Alikhani, Chairman, commented:

"We are pleased that the Agency has confirmed that they have reviewed the main details of EPL's submission and fully understand that ZEMA should wish to consult with all relevant organisations. Whilst we await the receipt of ZEMA's final decision, we will continue to ensure we are in readiness to begin our processing plans once we have approval." 

This release has been reviewed by Dennis Human, B.Sc. (Hons), Bus. Admin (Hons), MGSSA, Consulting Geologist to the Company, who is a Qualified Person in accordance with the guidance note for Mining, Oil & Gas Companies issued by the London Stock Exchange in respect of AIM Companies.
