KABWE PROCESSING UPDATE
Berkeley Mineral Resources Plc, primarily engaged in processing mining tailings in Zambia, is pleased to provide an update on progress towards the start-up of processing operations in Kabwe, central Zambia. BMR's operations in Zambia are conducted by its 100% owned Zambian subsidiary Enviro Processing Ltd ("EPL").
Following the successful final public meeting reported in the Company's announcement dated the 15th April 2014, a formal written decision from the Zambian Environmental Management Agency ("ZEMA") has not been received within the time schedule anticipated, however we expect this to be imminent
In the meantime, EPL has been using this interval to conclude essential site clearance works and upgrade utilities in readiness for the commencement of its processing and environmental operations.
Masoud Alikhani, Chairman, commented:
"While we await the receipt of ZEMA's final decision, I am very pleased with the thoroughness of the preparatory work that has been done at Kabwe. Our team is working very hard to ensure that we have everything in place to enable us to begin processing once we have approval."
