21st Sep 2011 14:49

JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), today announced that it ranked 16th on this year's InformationWeek 500 - a list of the top technology innovators in the U.S. The annual list was revealed on September 13 at a gala awards ceremony at the exclusive Information Week 500 Conference taking place at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, CA.

In addition, JPMorgan Chase ranked 3rd in the industry grouping for Banking and Financial Services companies ahead of other large, global financial services companies.

JPMorgan Chase's Digital and Mobile programs are some of the firm's most innovative business technologies. Chase Mobile allows customers to deposit personal checks using their iPhone, while Chase QuickPay-an online service-allows you to send money to and receive funds from virtually anyone who's enrolled with an e-mail address. In addition, the Investment Bank's Empire application provides access to real-time and historical market levels across a range of Emerging Markets assets via various mobile platforms. The firm is dedicated to transforming the front-end customer experience and integrating through to the back-end infrastructure to makes these application suites more productive, efficient and timely.

"Our approach is helping JPMorgan Chase transform the way we do business," notes CIO Guy Chiarello. Building the program from the ground up - infrastructure to application-ensures a platform for growth and sustainability. "We know our mobile program will never really be complete," adds Chiarello, "because there will always be another application, another business, another great idea ready to onboard to a core infrastructure ready to handle it. Ultimately this all translates into faster time to market for our products and the ability to offer an enhanced customer experience."

"For 23 years, the InformationWeek 500 has chronicled and honored the most innovative users of business technology," said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. "In this day and age, however, being innovative isn't enough. Companies and their IT organizations need to innovate faster than ever before to stay a step or two ahead of their customers, partners, and competitors. This year's ranking placed special emphasis on those high-octane business technology innovators."

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's best-known companies. Top winners have included: The Vanguard Group, CME Group, Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels and Unum. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
