Morrison(Wm.)Supermarkets PLC03 May 2005 ANNOUNCEMENT Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC ("Morrisons") announces that it has agreed that itand a new company established in which it has a majority share (Rathbone KearLimited) has with effect from 30 April 2005 acquired certain bakeries andrelated assets from the administrators of Rathbones Bakeries Limited (inadministration). Morrisons has acquired freehold premises at Wakefield, Wigan and Lydney andRathbone Kear Limited has acquired bakery equipment and related assets at thepremises in Wakefield, Wigan and Lydney and has also taken on a lease of bakerypremises at Middlesbrough, with the associated equipment. The aggregatepurchase price is £15.5 million. Rathbone Kear Limited is a joint venture company owned by Morrisons and HarryKear who owned and successfully ran Rathbones Bakeries Limited prior to its saleto Greencore in 1997.
