Johnston Press streamlines management structure
Johnston Press plc, one of the leading local media groups in the UK, has today announced a number of organisational changes to accelerate its strategy of growing engaged audiences to achieve total revenue growth.
The leadership structure is being simplified to maximise operational efficiencies across core functions - editorial and sales - and shift focus away from existing geographic reporting lines.
· An Editor-in-Chief has been appointed to drive a co-ordinated editorial strategy across the portfolio by championing innovation and best practice
· The Local Display, Features and Entertainments teams will be consolidated into one to ensure rapid implementation of the sales strategy, faster-to-market product launches and a simplified product portfolio
· Five regional MD roles have been removed to improve fast-track decision-making
· Two Group Publishing Director positions have been created to accelerate the delivery of the publishing strategy and identify new revenue streams
Ashley Highfield, CEO of Johnston Press, said: "As we sharpen our focus on overall revenue growth, these changes will ensure we are very clear with our strategy and its execution. Re-organising will mean we can act quicker and take new products to market in a consistent and effective way.
"We've seen success with our digital products such as Sky AdSmart, Digital Kitbag and 1XL and adopting this more unified approach will allow us to innovate with even greater speed."
