To: Business Editor For immediate release Jardine Cycle & Carriage Announces Appointment of New Group Managing Director 3 October 2006 - Jardine Cycle & Carriage today announced that Benjamin WilliamKeswick has been appointed as Group Managing Director of the Company with effectfrom 1st April 2007. He succeeds Adam Keswick, who is to take up otherappointments in the Jardine Matheson Group. Ben Keswick is currently the chief executive officer of Jardine Pacific, whichrepresents a number of the Jardine Matheson group's non-listed interests in Asiaencompassing a range of industry sectors that include air cargo handling,aviation services, building and construction, engineering, restaurants, and ITproducts and services. He joined the Jardine Matheson group in 1998, workingfirst for its retail arm, Dairy Farm, before completing an MBA at INSEAD inSingapore. He moved to Jardine Pacific as finance director in 2003 and becamechief executive officer in 2005. In addition to his role as Group Managing Director of the Company based inSingapore, Ben Keswick will have broader Jardine Matheson group responsibilitiesin Southeast Asia and will remain a director of Jardine Matheson Limited.
