ISSUE OF ORDINARY SHARES

Kazakhmys announces that application has been made for the admission of 2,219 ordinary shares of 20 pence each to be admitted to the Official List of the Financial Services Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities. It is expected that admission of these shares will commence at 8.00am on 26 June 2012.

The shares have been issued to minority shareholders of Kazakhmys Corporation LLC in the form of a share exchange and cash buyout.

As at today's date, Kazakhmys holds 11,701,830 ordinary shares in treasury and has 523,716,131 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
