("Centamin" or "the Company")
Issue of Equity
Centamin Egypt Limited (TSX:CEE, ASX:CNT, AIM:CEY) announces that, following the exercise of unquoted employee options:-
75,000 ordinary shares were issued and allotted at an exercise price of A$0.7106 per share on 22 May 2009;
50,000 ordinary shares were issued and allotted at an exercise price of A$0.7106 per share on 25 May 2009; and
50,000 ordinary shares were issued and allotted at an exercise price of A$0.7106 per share on 28 May 2009.
Furthermore, following the exercise of unquoted broker warrants:
329,280 ordinary shares were issued and allotted at an exercise price of C$1.20per share on 26 May 2009; and
670,720 ordinary shares were issued and allotted at an exercise price of C$0.65 per share on 26 May 2009.
Application has been made for the new ordinary shares to be admitted to trading on AIM. The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in the Company and trading of these shares on AIM is expected to commence on 05 June 2009.
The total number of Ordinary Shares on issue following the above issues is 990,875,623.
