BT ISSUES BOND FOR INTERNAL FINANCING
British Telecommunications plc ("BT"), a wholly owned subsidiary of BT Group plc, will today issue a floating rate Eurobond due 2019 with a notional value of £3,640,560,630 to a BT group company. The bond issue is solely for internal financing and has no effect on the net or gross debt position of the BT group or the listed parent company, BT Group plc.
The new bond replaces the bond issued in March 2010 of notional value £3,610,927,447. The bond maturity remains 2019. The new bond will be listed on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange on 31 March 2011. This is a process undertaken every year on 31 March.
