The Princess Private Equity Holding Limited ("Princess") portfolio partnershipThomas H. Lee Parallel Fund VI together with Goldman Sachs & Co. has completedthe recapitalization of MoneyGram International, a leading global paymentservices company. The deal included a USD 760 million investment in exchange fora 79% equity stake, while affiliates of Goldman Sachs & Co. provided USD 500million in debt financing. MoneyGram provides money transfer services, moneyorders and bill payment services to consumers and businesses through a networkof agents and financial institution customers. It generated USD 1.3 billion inrevenue in 2007 with approximately 150'000 global money transfer agents in 180countries and territories. MoneyGram ranks as the second largest player in themoney transfer industry and is strategically well positioned to further increaseits market share; Thomas H. Lee envisages good return opportunities in thisinvestment.
